Foster BEER [Surnames: BEER, PATTON, RODOMER, WEAVER] BEER, H. FOSTER A well-known and successful farmer of Young Hickory Twp., whose progenitors were the earliest settlers of Fulton County, he was born in that township in 1871, a son of G. W. and Eliza (Weaver) Beer, also natives of Fulton County. Thomas Beer, father of George W., was a Pennsylvanian by birth. Moving with his family by wagon to Joshua Twp., in 1835, he purchased a tract of land and carried on farming there successfully for the remainder of his active life. George W. Beer followed the same occupation until he purchased of Isaac Weaver a farm in the Young Hickory and Deerfield Twps. This he improved, cultivating it until,in 1894 when he established his residence in Fairview in Fulton County. He and his worthy wife became the parents of six children: Hattie, Ida, Flora, Ella, Foster and Lola. H. Foster Beer was also reared to farm life and stayed on the paternal farm until 1894. He then spent two years in the town of Fairview and in 1897 returned to the homestead property, devoting considerable attention to the raising of stock. The farm consists of 160 acres and is in Section 35 in Young Hickory and Deerfield Twps. July 15 1896, Mr. Beer married at North Henderson, IL with Bertha Patton who was born in Joshua Twp. She is the daughter of Joseph and Phebe (Rodomer) Patton, natives of Fulton County. Mr. and Mrs. Beer have become the parents of three children: Harris, born March 6, 1898; Winifred, born March 7, 1900; and Beatrice, born Nov. 24, 1902. In politics he is with the Prohibition Party.
